Join Sole Hope in Uganda – A Journey of Hope, Service, and Transformation

In Uganda, many children suffer from preventable, painful foot infections due to lack of adequate footwear, exposing them to serious jigger infestations. Sole Hope is dedicated to breaking this cycle by providing medical care, washing and treating children’s feet, and offering sturdy, protective shoes. This unique journey with Sole Hope is more than service—it’s an immersion into Uganda’s vibrant culture and resilient communities, creating lasting connections.

Our goal is for you to leave this experience with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by Ugandans, an appreciation for their culture, and a commitment to advocate for those in need.

Trip Highlights – What You’ll Experience:

• Visit the Sole Hope Hope Center, Clinic, and Shoemaking Workshop – Meet our dedicated team, tour our facilities, and learn firsthand about the craftsmanship behind Sole Hope shoes. Witness the impact of our community efforts and connect with the inspiring local staff members who make our mission possible.

• Footwashing and Mobile Medical Clinic – Travel to nearby villages with Sole Hope’s team to support jigger removal and medical care, bringing relief to those in need.

• Explore Jinja and the Source of the Nile – Discover one of Uganda’s most scenic and historically significant spots, where Lake Victoria feeds into the Nile. Enjoy guided walking tours, markets, and opportunities to learn about Uganda’s diverse heritage.

• Adventure on the Nile – Embrace the thrill of activities like white-water rafting, kayaking, or even a peaceful sunset boat cruise, soaking up the natural beauty around the Nile’s iconic rapids​

• Optional Excursions – Some groups opt for activities like ziplining in Mabira Forest, bungee jumping over the Nile, or quad biking through scenic trails, giving you an adrenaline-packed perspective of Jinja​

• Walk the Red Dirt Roads – Experience Uganda’s characteristic landscape up close as you engage in hands-on work and connect with local communities.

Trip Costs and Sponsorship

This all-inclusive mission trip to Uganda costs $2,400, covering your accommodations, meals, and in-country transportation, so you can focus on the experience. Raise funds by sponsoring 70 pairs of Sole Hope shoes at $35 each, directly contributing to a child’s protection from jiggers.

*This does not include your flight from home to Entebbe, Uganda so keep this in mind as you fundraise and plan.

Interested in further support? Raising an additional 70 pairs can cover your airfare reimbursement up to $1,400, and any excess goes directly towards Sole Hope’s ongoing work in Uganda.

What’s Included:

• Lodging with provided bedding and towels

• Meals throughout your stay in Uganda (excluding travel meals)

• Travel insurance for emergencies

• Engagement with local organizations

• 70 pairs of Sole Hope shoes to distribute to local children

• Airfare to and from Entebbe, Uganda

• Necessary travel vaccinations

• Passport fees
