The Denim Dash 5k & Fun Run is an active way for supporters to partner with Sole Hope. It is one of our biggest events and a staff favorite. We get tons of questions each year, everything from questions on participation and sponsorship to impact and race results, so we’ve put together a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you make the most of your Denim Dash.

Do I have to run or can I walk?
Run if you are competing in a local race in North Carolina or Uganda, or if someone is chasing you. Otherwise, feel free to complete the 5k at your own pace.
Is there a time limit?
No time limit. The local races end when the last participant crosses the finish line. Virtual race participants can begin and end their own 5k at a time and pace of their choosing.
What is the age requirement?
For local races, children 12 and under can particpate in the Fun Run, and children 13-17 can partipate in the main race with parental consent. Virtual race participation is up to you and depends on your location.
If I sign up for the virtual race, where do I run?
Anywhere you can! Run (or walk) in your neighborhood, around the track at the local school, at a local park/trail, through your town, or on a treadmill.
How do I share my virtual race?
Share pictures and videos with us by tagging us on social media (Facebook: www.facebook.com/solehope | Instagram: www.instagram.com/solehope, @solehope) AND by using the following hashtags: #solehope #choosehopetakeaction #solehope5k. We can’t wait to see and share your 5k!
I want to support this event and goal, but I can't participate. What's the best way to help?
Can I register for a race AND sponsor an employee or do I have to choose?
You can do BOTH!
Can I form my own team?
Yes! You can create your own team for the North Carolina local race and the virtual option.
How can I make the most impact?
Recruit participants for your team, spead the word, or fundraise for a specific goal! If you would like ideas for fundraising, email fundraising@solehope.org.
Where can I find results for the North Carolina 5k?
Results and photos for the North Carolina 5k & Fun Run will be posted to the 5k Facebook page.
